Stuck on stupid

Many people call it by different things, but this saying works well for our family.

Sometimes Gabby get's stuck when she's frustrated, Hannah goes there when she isn't using her brain. Jonathan doesn't get stuck often, but when he does it's big. Me ... well, I have been there more times than I care to admit.

Recently, I have being dealing with some things that I just don't want to deal with any more. I have decided to simplify and stop dealing with stupid. I feel bad ... wait no I don't . I don't feel bad that I want to concentrate on the good. I want to be positive. I feel that the "stupid" doesn't allow me to because it carries too much baggage.

Laurel's husband says that it's like this ... your a moth and stupid is the light ... it burns you every time. It's time I find a new light source.

Rob comes back to Hong Kong

I love that our friends work for international companies that want them to travel to Asia ... Hong Kong especially!

Rob was back in town for a couple of days and we took him to Stanley on Saturday afternoon. It was actually a great day to go. We walked around the market laughed at some of the sites and then grabbed a quick bite and beer near the water. He said that it reminded him of being back in Sydney and Balmoral Beach.

After leaving Stanley, we came back to Happy Valley for dinner. We met up with another KPMG guy that Rob knew from AU that has a friend (a former KPMG person) who lives in HV too. We ate at the Dim Sum restaurant down the street ... it was great!

Sunday - Mother's Day we thought about sightseeing something new and something old with Rob. New was the 10,000 Buddhas. It was interesting place. The old was Sai Kung. We wanted to show Rob the boats that come to the beach where you can order fresh sea food from and then go to a restaurant and get it cooked. We didn't get fish from the boats, but we did stop for a late lunch and got some AWESOME clams (the girls loved them) and some really good shrimp.

It was a great visit ... again!

Rob and Jonathan at the entrance. We thought that it was the entrance to the 10,000 Buddha's temple, but instead, it was for a memorial cemetery. Oops.
It did have a beautiful view of Sha Tin.

This WAS actually one of the Buddha's. I didn't really understand the eyebrows, so we just go with it.

My opinion - yet again

Are there any words that when you hear them you just hate it?

I have a list (as does my friend Jessica)

Sissy - you gave the child the name ... you must have liked it at some point.
Bestie - I would rather hear BFF.
Hubby - Again, he has a name. I also dislike Wifey.
OMG (when it comes out of someone's mouth that is older than 30). I do find it funny when it comes out of the mouth of a ten year old.

Other things that make me wonder:
After a child hits the age of 2 ... do you really need to still count the number of months?

Do you need a little posting of how long you've been married? After 8 year, 2 months and 13 days, he probably still knows he's married.

Church

Laurel, my sister (she is biologically Jonathan's sister, but I love her to death!) reminded me of this:
http://northpoint.org/messages/taking-responsibility-for-your-life

My friend Rhonda, said that if you are single or have teens you should listen to this:
http://northpoint.org/messages/the-new-rules-for-love-sex-and-dating

I have started listening to the responsibility one. I am making the girls listen to it with me. It's not that I blame other people for the things in my life, but I think that it helps me be a better mom when it comes to how to explain to my girls that we DON'T blame other people for the decisions/choices we make in life.

As for the Love, Sex & Dating; I will have teenagers much too soon. I think that I should be prepared. So, Thanks Laurel and Rhonda for the updates on my church!
