T - 4 Weeks

Holy Crap! We have a ton of stuff to still do!

Jonathan is busier than ever at work. It is really funny ... it is like he has become "proposal" man because it is almost time to leave. As he has tried to give some of them away, others have not been so receptive ... again funny (though not to him).

Last week I felt really overwhelmed at work. No idea why! I'm not sure if it was because we were dealing with stupid crap or if I had slacked and fell behind. This week is much better ... I am on top of it!

Laurel (Jonathan's sister in TX) comes on Friday for a few days. We are all excited to see and spend some time with her. She will get to see Jonathan race on Saturday and meet some of his tri friends ... I'm sure that will be an experience!

On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, we are off to NJ to get some more info on the rotation. We found out that our Visa have been issued and should be on their way here from HK. We have figured out our flights: ATL to NRT on May 26th then NRT to HKG (arriving late on Friday night). The late arrival should work out well, we will be able to get to an apt/hotel, get something to eat, and then go to bed around 1 or 2 and hopefully reset our internal clock!

Spring Break - Packing

OH MY! I can't believe how fast this week has gone! I worked for a bit on Tuesday and Thursday. The girls spent the night at my parents on Monday and Tuesday night. We started to set up their computers so that they can have internet (are you really shocked that they don't have internet at their house? Not me!:) ) and skype. Wednesday we started to clean the basement and bring a bunch of stuff to the garage to give to Goodwill. Here is a picture of the garage after we have taken two carloads of stuff to be donated. We also cleaned out our clothes. What a crazy sight! The rule was if you haven't worn it in 6 months or a year .. it was gone. It worked great. I have a total of 15 things hanging in my closet that I want to bring. I have some stuff in drawers that will need to go with us, and I'm sure that I will pack some more stuff away.

It is really crazy how much stuff you "need" and how much of it is just "fluff". Like my friend Meg says, as we get older we tend to minimize our stuff. The thought of living in an 800 sq ft apt really makes you think about what you need and what you want.

Today we are taking apart a daybed and bringing that to Mom and Dad's along with another computer (that used to be Gabby's) to a co-worker of Mom's. I am sure that we are taking another few trips to Goodwill today too. I can't believe how much crap there really is!

Spring Break

This week Fulton County is on Spring Break. In February we had grand plans of either going to see the Goldbergs in Arkansas or visiting Laurel in Texas. Now, it looks like we are going to be home packing up some rooms of the house. (I would rather be visiting family and forget about packing!)

Yesterday I took down a bunch of pictures that were hanging on the wall and commented to Jonathan that I would just like to leave the house as is ... just lock the door behind us and we'll see it in a year. He said, "No". Damn him and his fiscal responsibility!

The house is officially rented for the next year or two. The family renting the house is great! It is really amazing how the stars aligned just right AGAIN!

So ... it looks to be shaping up to be a very full month for us. Laurel is coming down in late April; Jonathan's parents are coming down in May, and we have to fly up to Montvale at the end of the month for "orientation". We also have regular school stuff like CRCT testing, field day and all the end of year activities.

I have a feeling that the next 6-7 weeks are going to go by FAST!!!
